Joining the CRTS Network
CRTS graduates include aging services specialists, senior living administrators, home care providers, movers, move managers, professional organizers, movers, home staging professionals, Realtors® and other individuals who participate in the high touch, high harm aspects of senior relocation and home transition.
Eligibility and Guidelines for Designation
The Senior Transition Society Council was established in 2004 to advance the quality of home transition services by assuring individual competence to perform services through a validated, standardized examination that tests the skill, knowledge, and ethics needed to serve consumers.
To earn the CRTS designation and to become a member of the online Registry at MoveSeniors.com, you must follow these steps:
- Complete the Registration and Business Profile (part of the online registration process).
- Complete the Self Disclosure Questionnaire: this short questionnaire is an applicant criminal history screening tool and must be completed prior to the CRTS examination.
- Fulfill any one of the four options below to meet current education or experience registry requirements.
- High School diploma or GED, plus completion of an accredited CRTS training course AND have paid experience working with seniors OR 40 volunteer hours working with seniors in the last two years.
- High School diploma or GED, plus two years paid work experience working with seniors AND 20 completed and invoiced senior transition projects (or 400 hour equivalent), within the last two years.
- A certificate or degree in a field related to working with seniors from an accredited college or university AND 10 completed and invoiced senior transition projects (or 200 hour transition service equivalent) within the last two years.
- Have earned any of the following Council approved professional credentials AND 15 completed and invoiced senior transition projects (or 300 hour transition service equivalent)
- CSA, Certified Senior Advisor
- SRES, Senior Real Estate Specialist
- CAPS, Certified Age in Place Specialist
- CMC, Care Manager Certified
- CCM, Certified Case Manager
- Pass the CRTS Exam, administered by MMI and the American Certifying Board. A 75 percent passing score is required.
